Myra KnappMyra Knapp's subtle arrest of the spirit, energy and beauty of her environment endow her landscapes with compelling power. This talent has been applied to works describing the state of Texas for the last two decades and is seen in painterly forms that capture vastness, magnitude, mystery, and solitude.

The Chutes Surrounded and inspired by an active artistic family, Myra studied at the university level; carefully selected American artists and teachers, Ted Goerschner, Charles Movalli, Ron Rencher, and Scott Christensen, whose impressionist paintings have achieved national fame, and worked with them to gain her en plein air expertise and to develop her own unique style. In addition, two years of study in Europe exposed her to the work of history's great artists as well as contemporary styles and concerns.

"My passion is to paint the things that tug at my heart, and the Texas landscape provides a never-ending source of that motivation."
